Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (CERTH)

The Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (CERTH) is the only research centre in Northern Greece and one of the largest in the country. Founded in 2000, CERTH consists of five institutes, employing more than 1200 people, the majority being scientists. CERTH participates in PRECRISIS via its Information Technologies Institute (ITI), a founding member of CERTH and one of the leading Institutions in Greece in the fields of Informatics, Telematics and Telecommunications, and in particular via CERTH-ITI’s Multimodal Data Fusion and Analytics Group (M4D) of the Multimedia Knowledge and Social Media Analytics Lab (MKLab), with significant scientific expertise in several domains including: Web & Social Media Μonitoring and Mining, Computer Vision, Multimedia Understanding, Multimodal Data Fusion and Analytics, Interactive Multimedia Search and Retrieval, Artificial Intelligence, Semantic Technologies, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, as well as Crisis and Security Management
