n December 2024, the Johanniter Research and Innovation Centre organised the second pilot of the PRECRISIS Project in Vienna.

The theme of this winter event was naturally related to Christmas: the simulation included a tasty Punsch & Glühwein and holiday snacks. In July, the first PRECRISIS pilot was held in the form of a summer barbeque.

Like in the summer, we simulated a public event in the parking lot on our premises and imitated a number of situations involving criminal behaviour ranging from a shooting attack to a brawl, all of them filmed with a number of cameras from different angles”, Clemens Liehr from Johanniter explained.

The aim of the pilot was to produce non-real video footage to train and test the AI-based video analysis component which is the key output of the PRECRISIS project. This tool can flag locations and people involved in critical situations; and can provide alerts to operations officers, law enforcement, or security personnel.

In addition to the video analysis component, various social media tools are also being developed under PRECRISIS.
